5,000-Balboa Island residents, merchants & friends are excited about the annual march down Marine Ave. for their 11th annual Balboa Island
Parade. As you join family, friends and
neighbors “remember when” you had this much fun as the spirited crowds line the route returning the cheers emanating from the star-spangled floats, kids on festooned tri-cycles, live bands, antique cars full of dignitaries, spick and span fire trucks, decked out golf carts, and be-dazzled dogs and more!
The parade is dedicated to the 1st Battalion 1st Marines (“1/1”), Camp Pendleton, adopted by the City of Newport Beach who will join the walk down Marine Ave. The “Third Marine Aircraft Wing Band,” established for service during WWII will march the route and please the crowds with a concert at Marine & Balboa.

Newport Harbor Nautical museum opens "The Maritime Paintings of Caleb Whitbeck", their newest exhibition featuring paintings by the highly acclaimed San Francisco marine artist.
The exhibition will include 40 works, including three classic local yachts (CURLEW, TICONDEROGA and SEA DRIFT) from the Museum's own "Famous Yachts of Newport" collection. The additional images have been assembled from collections throughout the state to create this landmark exhibition.
