| Summertime Kick-off at the Newport Dunes Resort |

Summertime will begin with a splash when 30 children from Mariners Elementary School help Newport Dunes Resort kick off the summer season with the 45th Annual Whale Launch on Friday. The fun will begin at 10:30am when the children set the Dunes' 20-foot fiberglass mascot whale, "Moe B. Dunes," afloat in the resort's Lagoon. Imediately following the launch, Randy Seton from the Orange County Coast Keepers will lead the students in an interactive demonstration to teach them about the ill effects of water pollution so they can learn to respect and appreciate their environment. The Dunes' Whale Launch is widely recognized as the official starting event of summer at the 100-acre waterfront resort. For more information contact 949.729.DUNE(3863)
