Freedom Weekend

Freedom Weekend – at Newport Harbor Nautical Museum – This weekend festival includes exhibit booths, entertainment, living history & docent led programs, strolling musicians, chantey singers, children’s crafts & games, family activities, food & beverage. The LYNX, Square Top-sail schooner will be the main attraction. The LYNX was built to interpret a privateer or naval schooner from the War of 1812. Dockside tours will be available also. Newport Beach Relay for Life

This Annual American Cancer Society event is a unique, challenging and fun way to take part in the fight against cancer. It is the largest event in the United States with over 2,000 Relay for Life sites taking place all over the country, a number of which are right here in Orange County! Cancer survivors are honored as they kick of the event by walking the first lap and “The Mile of Hope” candlelight/luminaria ceremony will be held during the evening, to honor those who lost the battle against cancer. This is an overnight event, with a “Community party atmosphere”, will be held at the Newport Harbor High School field.
