Over a mile of art & music, if you love art and you enjoy a walk along the bayfront, you won't want to miss the Balboa Island Bayfront Artwalk. This year 120 local artists featuring, paintings, fine jewelry, sculpture, blown glass, photography & ceramics along the South Bayfront promenade on Balboa Island. The show stretches from Marine Avenue past the Ferry Landing at Agate with 8 bands along the way. The show continues across the ferry to the fun zone on the peninsula with more art, music and some beautiful woodies to view. Collector 10th Annual Balboa Island Artwalk T-shirts and posters. About the 1812 PRIVATEER LYNX
The 122 -foot square topsail schooner LYNX is an interpretation of a privateer or naval schooner from the War of 1812. She is fitted with period ordnance and flies pennants and flags from the 1812 era making her one of the first ships to defend our freedom.
LYNX was hired to train the cast and crew of the movie
Pirates of the Caribbean.
About the SPIRIT of DANA POINT
The 118 - foot schooner Spirit of Dana Point is a replica of a Baltimore Clipper Schooner. A Fast Privateer from the period when America fought for our Independence.
Feel and hear the roar of each ship's cannons as both LYNX and the SPIRIT of DANA POINT tack and maneuver into position. Join us and experience first hand, the fun and excitement of 19th century ship-to-ship sea battle.
Cost: Adults: $50.00 Kids: 12 and under $25.00

Newport Harbor Nautical museum opens "The Maritime Paintings of Caleb Whitbeck", their newest exhibition featuring paintings by the highly acclaimed San Francisco marine artist.
The exhibition will include 40 works, including three classic local yachts (CURLEW, TICONDEROGA and SEA DRIFT) from the Museum's own "Famous Yachts of Newport" collection. The additional images have been assembled from collections throughout the state to create this landmark exhibition.
